Drone Strike Near UAE Nuclear Plant; No Safety Breach Reported

Abu Dhabi (Agencies) A fire broke out in an արտաքին electrical generator near the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi following a reported drone strike; however, authorities have confirmed that nuclear facilities and radiological safety remained fully secure.

According to Arab media reports, the incident occurred in the Al Dhafra region, where an external electrical generator installed outside the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant was struck, resulting in a fire. Emergency response and security teams swiftly reached the site and successfully brought the blaze under control.

Officials stated that no casualties have been reported, and the plant’s internal nuclear systems, along with all safety and security mechanisms, remained completely unaffected.

In an official statement, the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) confirmed that the incident had no impact on the plant’s operational systems, security infrastructure, or critical installations. All units at the facility continue to function normally without any disruption.

UAE authorities have urged the public to rely solely on credible and official sources for information and to refrain from spreading rumors or unverified reports.
