Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Pakistan Peoples Party leader Shazia Atta Marri, while giving a clear stand on the current political situation in Balochistan, has said that the provincial government is fully established and functional, while the news regarding the change of Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti is baseless. She rejected any kind of cut in the NFC award and assured that the PPP will not compromise on provincial rights, while describing the information circulating regarding the 28th Constitutional Amendment as mere rumors.

According to details, PPP central leader Shazia Marri has taken a categorical stand on the current political situation in Balochistan and national affairs, saying that the provincial government is working according to its performance and there is no truth in the news of replacing Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti. In an exclusive interview, she clarified that the rumors circulating about the 28th Constitutional Amendment are mere speculations and neither the Prime Minister has consulted the PPP in this regard nor has the party been informed about it. The PPP will never accept any cut in the NFC award and no compromise will be made on provincial autonomy. Shazia Marri said that the Chief Minister of Balochistan is regularly participating in all important meetings related to austerity and fuel conservation at the federal level, which shows that the provincial government is performing its duties responsibly.

Talking about the political situation, she said that the PPP has always strived to strengthen the democratic process and has invited the PTI for talks several times. He stressed that all political parties should sit down and discuss in the national interest, going beyond their affiliations. He said that despite bitter experiences in the past, the PPP chose the path of negotiations in the interest of the country, however, the continuous confrontational attitude of the PTI is regrettable. Political issues can only be resolved through the courts and constitutional mechanisms, so instead of allegations, the legal path should be taken.

Shazia Marri also criticized the internal situation of the PTI, saying that different groups have formed within the party and now it is not clear which faction is leading which protest. She also raised questions regarding the expected protest on April 9, saying that in the current circumstances, the country cannot afford any new protests. She advised the PTI to show seriousness instead of emotional decisions and come towards resolving issues through negotiations so that political stability can be ensured.
