Islamabad (Sports Reporter) Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has approved the affiliation of Pakistan Paddle Federation, initiating the formal sponsorship of the sport of “Paddle” in the country.
According to details, Pakistan Sports Board has taken an important step to promote paddle sports in the country and has officially approved the affiliation of Pakistan Paddle Federation, which is being termed as a major development in the national sports structure. This decision was taken in the 36th meeting of Pakistan Sports Board, after which the interim leadership of the federation has also been announced in the notification issued. According to the notification, world-renowned squash legend Jahangir Khan has been recognized as the President of Pakistan Paddle Federation, while renowned journalist and anchor person Mansoor Ali Khan has been recognized as the Secretary General.
The board has directed that the newly formed federation complete its registration under the Companies Act within the next 90 days and also take immediate steps to affiliate with the International Padel Federation so that this sport can be represented at the global level. This step is being described as an important milestone towards the promotion of padel tennis in the country, through which not only will this sport receive institutional patronage but young players will also get better opportunities to showcase their talents. According to experts, after receiving patronage at the government level, padel sport can become increasingly popular in Pakistan, while the process of searching for and training talent under a structured structure can also be made effective, which will prove important for representing the country in international competitions in the future.
